From The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee

Aubrey Groves

It’s an honour and privilege for Woodlands International School to host the 4th SENIM Conference – the first time this conference is being held outside West Malaysia.

Woodlands International was established in 2013 as the first truly International School in Sibu and follows EYFS in its Early Years department and moving through into the Cambridge programme in Primary and Secondary. It currently has around 330 students aged between 2 and a half to Year 11. Next year we hope to open up to A’ level candidates. The school has several students with learning disabilities and is keen in developing greater inclusion in the future.

The conference theme in 2017 is Awareness, Support and Inclusion and we have several international speakers presenting both workshops and plenary sessions throughout the weekend conference. There will also be several simultaneous workshops led by experts in their field, some of which conducted in languages other than English, including Malay and Mandarin.

Whether you are a student, doctor, teacher, educational leader or a parent of a child with special educational needs, you we find the conference stimulating and enlightening, as well as providing an opportunity for further developing a greater network of support and assistance in Malaysia, Asia and beyond.

Welcome to Woodlands; welcome to Sibu – the heart of Sarawak!
